Marxists for Obama?
So I thought I'd get a bit of perspective from the only gun enthusiast I know. Sometimes I check his blog out to see what's going on up in his neck of the woods in Idaho, and I guess I thought of him today because I was getting all these comments from people with guns in their profile photos.
Joe knows I like to shoot guns. I went to Idaho and learned to build explosives with him and had a great time blowing them up. He also knows I'm not happy when I ride my bike past yet another shrine put up to honor the memory of someone killed by a gun. That's a total gun-bummer, for everyone, including responsible gun owners, whose reputations are tarnished by association.
Imagine my surprise when I saw a link on his blog to "Marxists for Obama," an organization that supports repealing the Nineteenth Amendment so that all the ladies in the land don't vote for Palin solely on the basis of "Pussy Power." I had a similar thought myself and had posted about it earlier this week. I rolled over on his link and noticed it linked back to my own website! Marxists for Obama? Moi?
Last I checked my identity, I wasn't calling myself a Marxist for Obama! I'm flattered by the term "Marxist" but I don't think the shoe fits. More academic and elitist than "Commie" I suppose, but if we're going to go fringe terms I do like the ring of "anarchist" better. Since I pay taxes, follow most of the laws, and register to vote as a Democrat, I can only be an anarchist in my dreams. Marxist? Maybe in terms of literary criticism and post-feminist theory...
Thanks for linking to my blog! Brings in a whole new audience from the usual knitters.
And right back atcha, gun guy! Prepare yourself for the onslaught of knitters! I'm sure they'll get a special kick out of your post about TSA rules regarding the locks on gun cases. Knitters are OBSESSED with the rules about carrying knitting needles on airplanes and whether or not it's allowed. It is, most of the time.

Thanks for the link Lisa.
I welcome comments from anyone other than spammers and people advocating illegal acts. Knitters that get annoyed with the TSA (it really should be AST for A Security Theater)? That sounds like my kind of people. Bring them on!
Not a Marxist? Hmmm... I thought that was what you said when you were making the explosives with us. I guess it must be the Alzheimer's getting to me. I'll change that to better match your viewpoint.
Sorry about that.
Anarchist with guns and explosives experience--it all fits!
Oh, I'm having a special day for bloggers at the next Boomershoot. You are welcome to attend. Just let me know a week or two in advance.
