Neither Paper Nor Plastic

Roman Jaster emailed me about his new project. Roman was in my knitting workshop at CalArts this winter, and he'd made lots of progress on amazing baby booties, so I was excited to see what else he was up to.
To celebrate Earth Day, Roman made beautiful fabric bags that are silkscreened with the phrase, "Paper nor plastic." He sewed them all himself, with love, and distributed them at a Ralph's in Valencia on Earth Day.
He asked everyone who took a bag to sign a pledge that they would use this bag for all shopping trips for six months.
Six months is a good amount of time to develop a habit of using re-usable bags, and armed to shop with a stylish bag that makes more than just a fashion statement, who in their right mind would go back to those icky plastic bags?
